Snowshoeing at ski slopes of Vogel
Description: We’ll pick up guests at the agreed-upon meeting point and head to the lower station of the chairlift, which will take us 1,000 meters above the lake in just a few minutes. Upon arrival at the ski resort, we’ll learn about walking in winter conditions and how snowshoes can help us do so. Once we’ve mastered the theory, we’ll set out on a 2-hour hike between Rjava Skala and Zadnji Vogl.

Snowshoeing at Soriska Planina ski resort
Description: We’ll pick up guests at the agreed-upon location and head to Soriška Planina. The trip takes just under half an hour. At the parking lot, we’ll get properly equipped and go over how to use the snowshoes, which will help us walk.
We will embark on a hike lasting about 2.5 hours (the duration depends on snow conditions) and explore the peaks above the mountain pasture, which offer beautiful views of Triglav, the Bohinj Basin, and the Primorska region. Since the Rapallo border ran through this area, we will also visit the Italian fortifications of Vallo Alpino.

Snowshoeing on the Pokljuka plateau
With its vast forests and mountains, Pokljuka offers a wide variety of hiking trails. Depending on snow conditions, we’ll set out on one of them. We’ll stroll among the mighty spruce trees for about two hours, learning some interesting facts about Pokljuka along the way. The hike is suitable for everyone. By arrangement, we can also end the hike with a stew or lunch at a mountain hut. Access to the starting point takes a bit longer—about 45 minutes.

WHY SNOWBOARDS?
Snowshoeing is a wonderful way to experience winter nature in a peaceful and relaxing way. It allows you to walk on snow without sinking, exploring remote trails and views that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to reach in winter. It’s simple, healthy, and suitable for anyone who enjoys being active in the fresh air—no special skills or equipment required.
WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME?
Of course, this is wintertime. For those who prefer colder conditions, December and January are the perfect months. For those who’d rather enjoy the warm sunshine, February, March, and even April are ideal.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Bring warm clothing, even if the forecast calls for nice weather, as conditions in the mountains can change quickly.
Be sure to pack water, tea, and a snack in your backpack.
Wear high-top hiking boots.
