For many years, the Vogel ski resort has been known as the most beautiful in Slovenia, and there's really no arguing with that. The views of Lake Bohinj, the two Bohinj valleys and the Triglav Mountains are breathtaking. Add to that the snow-capped wreath of the Lower Bohinj Mountains from the Black Finger all the way to Bogotan and you are guaranteed a breathtaking view on all sides.
But it's not just the beauty of the landscape that attracts, it's also the natural snow. The Vogel is located in a national park, so it has no artificial snow and relies solely on natural snow, which is much more pleasant to ski on.
I wake up on the shore of a beautiful lake
Just before the funicular that leads you to the ski resort, right next to the lake, is an ancient building with stories dating back more than 100 years - the Hostel pod Voglom. It is the only place that invites you to stay close to the ski slopes and at reasonable prices.
The hostel offers individual beds, private rooms and family rooms. Every morning, you can enjoy a bunny boil to refuel you before skiing. A free ski bus will take you from the front of the hostel to the pendulum.
