For many years now, the Vogel Ski Resort has been renowned as the most beautiful in Slovenia, and we really can’t argue with that. The views of Lake Bohinj, both Bohinj valleys, and the Triglav mountain range are breathtaking. Add to that the snow-capped ridge of the Lower Bohinj Mountains stretching from Črna prst all the way to Bogotan, and a magnificent view in every direction is guaranteed.
However, it is not just the beauty of the landscape that attracts visitors; the natural snow certainly plays a role as well. Vogel is located within a national park and therefore does not have artificial snowmaking; it relies solely on natural snow, which is much more pleasant for skiing.
I wake up on the shore of a beautiful lake
Just before the chairlift that takes you to the ski resort, right by the lake, stands an ancient building with a history dating back more than 100 years—Hostel pod Voglom. It welcomes anyone who enjoys staying close to the ski resort at reasonable prices.
The hostel offers single beds, private rooms, and family rooms. Breakfast is served every morning to give you a boost before you hit the slopes. A free ski bus will take you from the hostel to the chairlift.
